Fellow rookie Mike Taylor had another impressive game with 21 points and nine assists for the Clippers, who are unbeaten in three exhibition games. Cuttino Mobley added 17 points and Jelani McCoy had 12 for Los Angeles, which held the Kings scoreless after Bobby Jackson's free throw with 2:54 to play.

Jackson got the biggest cheers from the crowd at the Spanos Center on the University of Pacific's campus in this Central Valley town about one hour south of Sacramento. The veteran guard returned to the Kings when they traded Ron Artest to Houston during the summer, but he missed four straight shots in the final seconds against the Clippers.

Although the Kings made 24 turnovers while their reserves blew a 17-point lead, Martin looks ready to begin his first season as Sacramento's leader after the departures of Artest and Mike Bibby. The slim guard went 9-for-11 and hit two 3-pointers before sitting out the final minutes.

The Clippers erased a 10-point deficit from early in the fourth quarter on Gordon's 3-pointer with 5:05 to play. Los Angeles went ahead 108-107 on Gordon's layup moments later, but the Kings led on free throws by Francisco Garcia and Jackson until Taylor's tying jumper with 2:13 left.

Garcia added 15 points for the Kings, while Jackson and Spencer Hawes had 13 apiece.

Los Angeles again played without veterans Baron Davis (flu), Tim Thomas (strained groin) and Marcus Camby (bruised heel), who dressed but didn't play.
