Teams: Milwaukee Bucks (11-15) vs. Philadelphia 76ers (10-14). When: 6 tonight.
Where: Wachovia Center, Philadelphia.
Broadcasts: TV - FSN. Radio - AM-620.
About the 76ers: Maurice Cheeks did not survive Philadelphia's slow start and was fired as the team's coach Saturday. He was replaced by 53-year-old Tony DiLeo, who has served the last five years as the 76ers' senior vice president and assistant general manager. In their first game under DiLeo, the 76ers responded with a 104-89, home-court victory over the Washington Wizards. Elton Brand scored a season-high 27 points after having 20 points in the previous three games. Samuel Dalembert tied his season high with 17 rebounds. Royal Ivey, who played for the Bucks last season, is getting limited playing time off the bench (2.1 points, 8.1 minutes).
PLAYER TO WATCH
Elton Brand, 76ers
The former Los Angeles Clippers star made the biggest splash of the summer when he switched conferences and signed a big free-agent deal with Philadelphia. His numbers are decent (16.4 points, 10.0 rebounds) but thus far he hasn't made the impact most NBA observers anticipated. DiLeo already has tweaked the offense to give Brand more opportunities in the low post and to emphasize more movement in the team's half-court sets.
