It has been a friendly family rivalry since the elder Dunleavy returned to the coaching ranks in 2003, with the Clippers, and his son was playing with the Golden State Warriors. Dunleavy Sr. is 12-6 when coaching against his son, in combined games against the Warriors and against the Pacers.

One of the most endearing moments in the rivalry occurred during the 2006-07 season, when the younger Dunleavy was chasing a ball near the sideline and ran smack into the arms of his father, who was merely protecting himself from the collision.

The Clippers' coach said that as time has gone by the anguish of coaching against his son has lessened but he acknowledges that it remains tough because the pair are so close.

It has to be a rarity in any business when a father makes more than $5 million a year, yet still makes considerably less money than his offspring. The younger Dunleavy is being paid $9 million this season.

The Clippers are 5-6 against Indiana under Coach Dunleavy. That includes a 117-109 double-overtime victory earlier this season at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Clippers rookie guard Eric Gordon is expected back from his four-game absence when the Clippers play the Pacers. The 20-year old Gordon played one year at Indiana University in 2007-2008. As a senior at North Central High in Indianapolis, Gordon was named Mr. Basketball in Indiana and was named the Gatorade national male athlete of the year.

GRIZZLIES 118, CLIPPERS 95: In one of their more embarrassing losses of the season, the Clippers fell to the lowly Grizzlies, who only had won three road games before pounding the Clippers. Three former Clippers -- Darius Miles, Marko Jaric and Quinton Ross -- made a triumphant return to Staples Center. A disenchanted crowd started a "Fire Dunleavy" chant in the fourth quarter, as the Clippers lost their fourth consecutive game. Their current skid is 29 losses in the past 36 games.
