--Clippers head coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. made it a point to voice his happiness regarding the recent acquisition of G/F Rasual Butler, rather than elaborating on his thoughts concerning other player transactions over the past month. "We believe he is another piece who will help us get back to being a competitive playoff team," Dunleavy said. Butler himself sounds excited to end a good stint with the Hornets, according to a recent Twitter feed.

--Coach Mike Dunleavy is also pleased with the continued rehabilitation of F Blake Griffin, who was injured in the third game of NBA Summer League play on July 22, citing his intelligence during a practice.
"I don't think Blake was ever late for a rotation. If you're not late for a rotation, that means that you get it."
Dunleavy expects Griffin to be ready by the start of Clippers training camp on September 29.
"Everything is moving forward probably even ahead of schedule."
