--A total of 19 former Clippers made the opening-night rosters of 16 different NBA teams. The list: James Singleton (Dallas), Sam Cassell (Boston), Lorenzen Wright (Cleveland), Corey Maggette (Golden State), Brent Barry (Houston), Von Wafer (Houston), Josh Powell (Lakers), Quinton Ross (Memphis), Shaun Livingston (Miami), Keyon Dooling (New Jersey), Bobby Simmons (New Jersey), Melvin Ely (New Orleans), Quentin Richardson (New York), Chris Wilcox (Oklahoma City), Elton Brand (Philadelphia), Andre Miller (Philadelphia), Matt Barnes (Phoenix), Mikki Moore (Sacrament) and Brevin Knight (Utah).
--Clippers equipment manager Pete Serrano is 39 years old but is starting his 24th season with the organization. Serrano began his association with the Clippers as a ball boy, at the age of 16. By the time he was a senior in high school, he was assisting senior vice president Carl Lahr with assorted duties. Serrano would leave school after his fifth-period class to drive from Covina to the Clippers' offices. The only members of the Clippers' organization that have been around longer than Serrano are Lahr, longtime broadcaster Ralph Lawler and team president Andy Roeser. --Even though he has been promoted to the position of assistant general manager, Neil Olshey said he still would commit to his arduous travel schedule of scouting players both abroad and domestic. Olshey is scheduled to be in Eastern Europe in early December and while he is there, Olshey plans to see Greece Olympian Sofoklis Schortsanitis play. Dubbed early in his career as Baby Shaq, due to his girth, the 23-year old Schortsanitis' NBA rights still are owned by the Clippers, who drafted him in the second round of the 2003 draft.
