Los Angeles Clippers Notes, Quotes 2008-12-31
--These Clippers are making a strong case for being the worst field-goal shooting club in team history. They currently rank dead last in the NBA in field-goal shooting percentage and have shot below 40 percent from the field in four consecutive games. Overall, the Clippers have shot below 40 percent 11 times this year, and dating back to last season, have failed to convert 50 percent of their field-goal tries in 39 consecutive games. The team record for the poorest field-goal percentage was during the 1999-2000 season, when the Clippers shot .426 from the field. Current Clipper forward-center Brian Skinner, who was a rookie on that team, was the only player that played significant time that shot over 50 percent from the field. On this year's team, injured center Chris Kaman and forward-center Marcus Camby are the only two players that have made more than half of their field-goal tries. Guard Baron Davis has shot under 40 percent from the field three times in his career but he is at a career-low pace so far this year.

--Field-goal percentage is not the only category that the Clippers rank in the lower tier of the NBA in. They are 28th in points per game, next-to-last in three-point field-goal percentage and 26th in free-throw percentage. However, with sparingly-used forward Paul Davis making a career-best 10-of-10 from the foul line against Sacramento, the Clippers had their best free-throw shooting game of the year, when they converted 25 of 27 foul shots, for 92.6 percent.

--Marcus Camby continues to be a rebounding machine for the Clippers. His 24 rebounds against Sacramento marked his second 20-rebound performance in his past five games. Camby has registered double-digit rebounding numbers in 17 consecutive games and in that stretch he is averaging 15 rebounds per game. In that same 17-game segment, Camby has had 13 points-rebounds double-doubles.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "It's the same thing. We were losing last year, we're losing this year. It's frustrating for me because I want to play and I can't." -- Clippers center Chris Kaman.
