--They don't select players from downtrodden teams to play in the NBA All-Star Game. That's too bad, because for the past month, Clippers forward-center Marcus Camby has been the league's most dominant rebounder. Camby came up a mere rebound short of registering his fifth 20-plus rebounding game of the season, in the loss to Dallas. Camby has grabbed 10 or rebounds in 21 consecutive games and during that span he has 16 points-rebounds double-doubles. Overall, in 30 games, Camby is averaging 13.6 rebounds and 11.5 points. He is tied for the league lead in rebounds per game, with Orlando's Dwight Howard.
--G Eric Gordon has scored 20 or more points in five consecutive games, including Gordon's 32-point outburst against Dallas. It topped by one his previous season-high of 31 points, scored in the Clippers' loss to the Detroit Pistons. Gordon's scoring average has risen to 11.9 points. During the past 13 games, he is averaging 18.8 points. --Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy certainly is fighting to protect his players and demand a semblance of respect for his team. The Clippers' head man has been assessed four technical fouls in the past five games.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "Just hang the jersey up, I'll put it on." -- Clippers assistant coach and former NBA player Fred Vinson, when asked if he could play, if the team's injury situation got any worse.
