PLAYER NOTES: --G Baron Davis had a better game overall against the Suns Wednesday, making some open jumpers and looking much more confident on the court. His leadership is vital to the Clippers' chances this season.
--G Rasual Butler showed versus Phoenix Wednesday that when he's hot, he can score in droves off of the bench. His cool, expectant demeanor after tying the game with a trey in Amar'e Stoudemire's vicinity late in the fourth quarter is a good early sign for the Clippers.
--F Al Thornton made fewer mistakes versus the Suns Wednesday. He didn't try to force the action as often and helped keep his team in the game by playing smart basketball.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--F Blake Griffin did not play versus the Suns Wednesday, due to a fractured left patella. He is expected to miss up to six weeks with the stress fracture in his left kneecap.
