Los Angeles Clippers Roster Report 2008-10-30
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Baron Davis, Shooting guard Cuttino Mobley, Small forward Al Thornton, Power forward Tim Thomas, Center Chris Kaman. Bench -- Guard Jason Hart, Guard-Forward Ricky Davis, Forward Steve Novak, Guard Eric Gordon, Forward Brian Skinner, Guard Mike Taylor, Forward-Center Paul Davis.

--G Cuttino Mobley said two of his primary off-season conditioning exercises are boxing and swimming. Mobley was an age-group Golden Gloves champion in Philadelphia as a youth. Mobley said now, however, he restricts his boxing to shadow work. "I don't like anybody hitting me," he explained.

--G Ricky Davis said his game has evolved greatly since he first broke into the NBA during the lockout-shortened 1998-99 season, with Charlotte. Davis said the biggest improvement he made, primarily accomplished through game experience, was in his long-range shooting. "When I first came in, it was tough for me to shoot three-pointers," he said. Davis made two of 10 three-point tries as a rookie. Last season, with Miami, he connected on a career-high 135 shots from beyond the three-point arc.

--F Tim Thomas remembers when he was a NBA newbie that his mentors were teammates like Terry Cummings, Tom Chambers and Derrick Coleman. Thomas said they gave him all types of tips, ranging from on the court to off the court advice. They told me things that were important, that you really don't think about as a young player," Thomas said, "like eating healthy. When I first came in, I was a McDonald's and Chinese food guy, like my guy (rookie Mike Taylor) over here."

--F-C Marcus Camby (bruised right heel) missed the opening night's game against the Lakers and was expected to be out for at least another week.

--F-C Paul Davis (torn ligament right pinky finger) said that he could not afford to be out anymore and planned to play through his injury with his injured finger taped to his ring finger. Davis was lost for the remainder of the 2007-2008 season after suffering a torn ACL last December.

--G Baron Davis (sprained left ring finger) was held out of several exhibition games but with the games now counting, he expects to play at least 35 minutes per night.

--F Tim Thomas (strained left groin) underwent extensive treatment prior to the opening night game and his health will be monitored during the early portion of the season.
