Los Angeles Clippers Roster Report 2008-12-16

Los Angeles Clippers Roster Report 2008-12-16
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Baron Davis, Shooting guard Eric Gordon, Small forward Al Thornton, Power forward Zach Randolph, Center Marcus Camby. Bench -- Guard Mardy Collins, Guard Mike Taylor, Forward/center Paul Davis, Guard Jason Hart, Forward/center Brian Skinner.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Steve Novak did not get to play against his former teammates in the Clippers' victory over the Houston Rockets. Novak has been in and out of the rotation, and it is tough for a 3-point shooting specialist to capture his rhythm when his playing time is sporadic.

--F/C Marcus Camby has been filling in very well at center in the prolonged absence of starter Chris Kaman. But Camby, who had a 12-point, 13-rebound game with five blocked shots, likely will come off the bench again once Kaman is healthy enough to play.

--G Eric Gordon won't be 20 years old until Christmas Day, but he already is a strong, physical presence as a backcourt rebounder. That is something that the Clippers need because they rank among the bottom half of the league in rebounds per game.

MEDICAL REPORT

--C Chris Kaman (plantar fasciitis in left foot) also will be out longer than hoped. Coach Mike Dunleavy had hoped that Kaman would be back for the Clippers' game in four days against Portland. But Kaman said it would be at least two weeks before he could return.

--G Ricky Davis (tendinitis in left knee) said it would be at least another two weeks before he can play again. "I'm taking it slow," Davis said recently. "I want to get it right."
