ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Fred Jones, Shooting guard Eric Gordon, Small forward Al Thornton, Power forward Marcus Camby, Center Brian Skinner. Bench -- Guard-forward Mardy Collins, Forward Steve Novak, Center DeAndre Jordan.
PLAYER NOTES: --G Fred Jones has Jan. 10 circled on his calendar. That is the date that all NBA contracts become guaranteed for the year. Given the Clippers' injury situation, it would appear to be almost a given that Jones will remain with the team.
--G Eric Gordon has gotten raves about his defensive play from Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy, who said that he routinely assigns Gordon to guard the opposing teams' best perimeter player.
--F Marcus Camby has an active streak of 20 consecutive games in which he has grabbed at least 10 rebounds. During that streak, Camby has had 16 points-rebounds double-doubles.
--G-F Mardy Collins has emerged as the Clippers' most versatile player. Coach Mike Dunleavy regards him as being capable of playing three positions -- both guard spots and small forward.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Baron Davis (bruised tailbone) has experienced back spasms and likely will be sidelined for another two weeks.
--G Jason Hart (hyper-extended right elbow) could return when the Clippers begin an upcoming three-game road trip.
--C Chris Kaman (plantar fasciitis in his left foot) has another MRI scheduled in a week but likely won't be able to play until the end of January, at the earliest.
--F Zach Randolph (strained left knee) will be examined again in another two days. Randolph said he hoped to be able to play in another week.
--G Mike Taylor (fractured right thumb) is on a timetable that presumably will have him return shortly after next month's All-Star break. Taylor underwent surgery two days before Christmas.
--G Ricky Davis (tendinitis in his left knee) is close to being medically cleared to play. However, Davis still faces a five-game suspension for violating the NBA/NBAPA anti-drug policy.
