Los Angeles Clippers Roster Report 2009-02-10

Los Angeles Clippers Roster Report 2009-02-10
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Baron Davis, Shooting guard Eric Gordon, Small forward Al Thornton, Power forward Zach Randolph, Center Marcus Camby. Bench -- Guard Fred Jones, Forward Steve Novak, Guard Rickey Davis, Center DeAndre Jordan, Center Cheick Samb.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Al Thornton has become an enigma. Two days after having the best all-around game of his two-year career against Atlanta, he had a miserable game against Charlotte, shooting 3-of-13 from the field and grabbing two rebounds in 29 minutes.

--G Fred Jones has stepped aside with Baron Davis healthy and has assumed the backup role at point guard. A strong performance through the remainder of the season by Jones will enhance his value this summer as an unrestricted free agent.

--G Baron Davis simply could have had tired legs in the road trip finale against Charlotte when he only made one of his seven field-goal tries. The All-Star break will be a welcome vacation for Davis, who has battled through an assortment of injuries, starting in training camp.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--C Chris Kaman (plantar fasciitis left foot) remains on target to return shortly after the All-Star break. Kaman has not played since Nov. 26.

--G Mike Taylor (fractured right thumb) probably will return after the All-Star break. Taylor has been working diligently on his conditioning.

--G Mardy Collins (strained left calf) will use the All-Star break to continue his healing process.
