Los Angeles Clippers Roster Report 2009-03-05

Los Angeles Clippers Roster Report 2009-03-05
--The Clippers used their 27th lineup in 62 games when they played the Memphis Grizzlies. The Clippers probably won't surpass last year's club record of 39 starting lineups in 82 games.

ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Baron Davis, Shooting guard Fred Jones, Small forward Al Thornton, Power forward Marcus Camby, Center DeAndre Jordan. Bench -- Guard Mike Taylor, Guard Alex Acker, Guard/Forward Mardy Collins, Forward Steve Novak, Forward/Center Brian Skinner.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Baron Davis would average his fewest points per game since the 2000-2001 season if he continues at his current pace. Davis is averaging 15.3 points, his least productive season scoring-wise since his second year in the league when he averaged 13.8 points for the Charlotte Hornets.

--F/C Brian Skinner said his right Achilles' tendon remains sore but added that it's as well as it is going to be for the remainder of the season. Skinner has been back for four games now, after missing the previous nine.

--G Fred Jones by trade is a scorer and more suited for the off-guard position. But by playing both backcourt positions for the Clippers this season, in the wake of all of their injuries, and performing well, Jones might have earned himself a roster spot for next season.

MEDICAL REPORT:

--G/F Ricky Davis (tendinitis in his left knee) underwent a MRI exam Wednesday because of a recent flare-up.

"It's still swollen so I need to shut it down again," said Davis, who missed 19 games earlier in the season with the same injury. "It's not by choice and it's not because we're losing."

--G Eric Gordon (bruised left shoulder) is targeting Saturday's game against the Indiana Pacers for his return. Gordon has missed four consecutive games.

--C Chris Kaman (plantar fasciitis in his left foot) recently played two-on-two halfcourt, with full contact, which is a clear indication that he will be playing again very soon. It is very possible that Kaman's return will come Tuesday in the Clippers' home getaway game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
