NOTES
The wait for Chris Bosh may not last too much longer. The plan - and the hope - is that Bosh takes part in a full practice today and plays tomorrow in New York after missing five games with a knee injury. "It's not anything he wants, it's not anything I want or the organization wants, he's just not 100 per cent," coach Jay Triano said yesterday in explaining Bosh's absence for last night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Bosh said there are actually a couple of issues that have kept him off the court. "Mild sprain and bone bruise," he said. "It was battling two different things at one time. The best part about it was they were minor injuries."
Don't look for Shawn Marion to be yelling or screaming or gesticulating wildly as he immerses himself in a new role. He may be 30 years old and in his 10th NBA season, but that's not how he fancies his leadership abilities. "I lead by example first," he said. "You go out and play hard and stuff, you hope everybody follows you." But as he gets to know his new teammates a bit better, a quiet word may be offered. "If I know something that'll help a player, I'll give my input," he said.
