Even though he's been traded to the L.A. Clippers, former Denver Nugget

Marcus Camby hasn't forgotten the

children here. Accompanied by his

buddy and former teammate, shooting guard J.R. Smith, 15 youngsters from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver rode in a limousine to Macy's Cherry Creek for some shopping with the

$250 gift cards given to them by the Cambyland Christmas Foundation.

Macy's also chipped in with some

presents for the kids.

Good reason to drink

A dozen or so sports and media figures became mixologists for the night, and in turn raised about $100,000 for the Children's Hospital

Research Insitute. The 2008 Bartenders Martini Miracle Ball, which also featured food from

several area restaurants, was held at The Church nightclub.

Dining for a cause

The 35th Men's Event, benefiting AMC Cancer

Research Center, is held at the Palm in the

Westin Tabor Center. Nearly 200 civic leaders

are on hand for the dinner and auction that

raises money for AMC's researchers at the

University of Colorado Cancer Center. AMC

scientists place a special emphasis on finding a cure for prostate cancer.
