"That's all we talked about," Jackson said. "I went to his house, spent some time with his mom and his grandmother. He wants to come back. And if he wants to come back, I want him back."

After talks about a contract extension with the Warriors stalled, Davis opted out of the final year of his contract in July and signed a five-year, $65 million contract with the Clippers. Davis has said he never wanted to leave the Warriors but chose the more secure option. Things haven't gone so well with the Clippers. After losing to Dallas at the Staples Center hours before the Warriors took to the court, the Clippers are 8-21.

Jackson said he's going to be the president of the "Bring B.D. Back" campaign. It is feasible that the Warriors and Clippers could pull off such a deal. It would have to involve swingman Corey Maggette (for salary cap reasons) and/or guard Jamal Crawford (to make room in the backcourt).

Clippers owner Donald Sterling had said publicly last season that he wanted Maggette around long term. And Crawford, or even point guard Marcus Williams, would fill the Clippers' hole at point guard, if Davis were to go.

"I think that would be great for us," Jackson said. "Coach loves him. Him and (guard) Monta (Ellis) have good chemistry. If they could work that out, that would be great for the organization."

Ronny's return

Warriors forward Ronny Turiaf said he was anxious to see how he would be received at the Staples Center, where he spent his first three NBA seasons as a Laker.

"I always get the 'Ronny we miss you in L.A.' all the time," Turiaf said after Saturday's practice. "But you never know."

Now he knows. Turiaf got an ovation when he checked into the game for the first time with 2:03 left in the first quarter. He smiled as Lakers forward Trevor Ariza a member of Turiaf's movie club with the Lakers gave him a playful shove.

Crawford tested his strained left groin in pregame warm-ups and determined he was good to go. He started and played all 12 first-quarter minutes, totaling nine points and three assists. He even converted a four-point play. ... Ellis also worked out pregame at Staples Center. He spent a good 20 minutes working on his pull-up jumper. He seemed to have no limitations and said he felt "good" as he hurried off the court. ... Jackson picked up his ninth technical foul of the season while sitting on the bench in the first quarter. He moved into a tie for second place with Boston's Kendrick Perkins, three behind Detroit forward Rasheed Wallace. ... Forward Brandan Wright started for the fifth consecutive game, a career high. ... Center Andris Biedrins had 15 rebounds in 16 first-half minutes. He tied Phoenix forward Amare Stoudemire for most in an NBA half this season.
